SCUBAPRO Single Tank Adaptor

Description

Twins on a Saturday wreck and a single on Sunday otherwise means owning two sets of hardware. This adapter removes that, converting a backplate and wing from twin cylinders to one without the plate leaving the harness. It attaches on fixed bolts and takes the cylinder in a single cinch band rather than the usual pair, and one band threads and tensions faster than two, alone, at the back of a bakkie or on a rolling boat deck. The body is lightweight marine grade aluminium, with rubber grip pads bearing on the cylinder to stop it rotating inside the band. It also allows more vertical travel than a plate mount does, which earns its keep: sliding a steel 12 up or down a few centimetres moves the trim point noticeably, and a tank height adjustment strap with a quick release buckle remembers the setting between dives. Cylinder, cam band webbing and wing are not included, and twin sets bolt straight to the plate needing no adapter. It suits a diver running one rig across single and twin configurations.
