Slate with Clip

Description

Hand signals cover gas, direction, depth and the standard problems. A change of plan, a fault with a piece of equipment or a species name for a logbook are not among them, and those need writing down. This slate does that, supplied with a clip so it attaches to a BCD D-ring and stows flat against the harness rather than trailing, which is the difference between a slate that goes on every dive and one that stays in the kit bag after the first entanglement. It is written on with a graphite pencil and cleaned with an eraser or a fingernail; graphite is used rather than ink because it works on a wet surface and does not run, and the same slate is reused indefinitely. Write the plan on it before the entry rather than trusting memory, and keep a pencil attached, because a slate without a pencil is a piece of plastic. The Wrist Slate is the forearm-mounted alternative. It suits a diver who needs to say something specific underwater.
