SM-16/70 Depth Gauge Module

Description

Consoles tend to be built up over years rather than bought complete, and this is the depth gauge that goes into one. The SM-16 is a mechanical module reading to 70 m, which means no battery, no pairing and no charging before a trip. On a rental or club fleet that is the whole point: a mechanical gauge survives being handed to a hundred different divers and still reads correctly at the end of the season. On a technical dive it is the backup depth reference when the computer is primary. On an older console it is simply the part that has drifted out of accuracy and needs replacing. It seats into a CB-in-line boot, sold separately, so a console can be extended rather than rebuilt. It suits a diver building or repairing a console rather than moving everything to the wrist.
