Description

A macro subject the size of a thumbnail lit by an ordinary dive light comes back with the subject correctly exposed and a busy, distracting reef behind it. A snoot fixes that by throwing away most of the beam: it funnels the output into a small controlled circle, so the subject is lit and everything around it falls to black. The result is separation that no amount of editing afterwards produces convincingly. This one fits the 1300 series torches, clamping over the front of the light, and the effect is adjusted by moving the light closer or further from the subject rather than by changing any setting. It is the cheapest way to make a general purpose torch behave like dedicated macro lighting. Other snoots in the range cover the 1200 series and the larger video heads. It suits a macro photographer working with a 1300 series light.
