Spectra Snorkel

Description

A dry top adds breathing resistance and failure points; a semi-dry top cuts water entry from chop without either, and that is the design decision behind this snorkel. Clearing costs one breath through a purge valve at the lowest point of the tube, so a mouthful of chop on a long surface swim back to the boat does not turn into a stop. The upper tube is large bore for airflow, with a flexible corrugated joint below it that lets the snorkel drop away from the face while a regulator is in use, keeping the mouthpiece off the jaw for the whole dive below. The mouthpiece is regulator style with bite tabs and a quick clip fixes the snorkel to the mask strap. Six colourways are stocked, finished in SCUBAPRO's metallic paint process and matched to the mask and fin ranges: shadow black, metallic blue, turquoise, yellow, pink with black, and pink with clear. Semi-dry is not dry, so a wave over the top still puts water in. It suits a diver who wants a snorkel that gets used.
