SeaLife Sportdiver Wide Angle Dome

Description

Because this is a wet lens it never has to be committed to at the start of a dive. The dome goes on for the reef scene and comes off for the nudibranch on the next ledge, so one tank covers both. It threads at 52 mm, mounting to a SportDiver through the SportDiver Lens Adapter and to any other housing carrying a 52 mm thread, widening the field of view by 43 percent and letting the photographer work twice as close. Closer is the point rather than a side effect: less water between lens and subject means more colour and more detail. Optics are a 4-element, 4-group array in fully multi-coated internal optical glass, and the dome itself is optical polycarbonate with a hard anti-scratch coating, which matters because a dome protrudes and meets things a flat port never does. It locks on with a ring and is rated to 60 metres. Housing, phone and adapter are not included. It suits a photographer wanting a wide dome on a 52 mm port.
