Description

Clipping and unclipping a deco bottle is a task done by feel, often with the eyes on a computer or a team mate, and at the end of a long cold dive the hands have stopped reporting much. Making every piece of hardware bigger removes the need for fine motor control altogether. This kit rigs a stage or deco cylinder on oversized tubular webbing with Big-Eye stainless steel bolt snaps, whose wider gate a dry glove can find and work where a standard snap needs fingertips the glove does not give. The profile is traditional rather than slim, and SCUBAPRO list it for cold or gloved hands. A stainless steel hose clamp covered in tubular webbing keeps its cut edges off a drysuit, and silicone retention bands with a raised lip hold the hose on the cylinder. Sizes run 40 for a 5.6 litre and 80 for an 11.1 litre. All that bulk trades a little extra drag against glove-friendly handling. Cylinder, valve and regulator are separate. It suits a cold-water diver in dry gloves carrying a stage.
