Description

A poncho without a peaked hood funnels rain straight down the front while changing, which is the detail that earns this one a second look. It is cut as a pull-over rather than a coat, and poppers down each side open so a wetsuit can come off underneath without the poncho coming off first. The fabric is waterproof and fleece-lined, finished with a fluorine-free waterproofing treatment rather than a PFC-based one. The hood is adjustable as well as peaked, keeping rain off the face rather than merely off the crown, and handwarmer pockets are set into the front. The whole thing is lightweight and packs down small enough to live in a dive bag. What it buys is dignity on a public slipway and warmth on a cold one. Sizing spans 2X Small through X Large in black, with blue and burgundy versions in the range. The Tidal Robe is the full-zip alternative. It suits a diver changing on a beach or a slipway.
