Description

A knife sheath that sits proud of a rig is a snag point, and one that lets the knife escape is worse. The Striker uses a low-profile case with a safety mechanism that prevents the blade working loose while still allowing quick access when it is wanted. The knife itself is grade 420 stainless in a one-piece design, so there is no joint to fail, with a double-edged blade that cuts a range of materials rather than being optimised for one. Beyond cutting it carries tools specific to spearfishing: extraction and straightening of underwater fishing rods, which is the job most likely to arise and least likely to be solved by an ordinary blade. Corrosion resistance and durability are what grade 420 is chosen for. It is finished in red, which makes it findable on a boat deck. It suits a spearfisher who wants a low-profile knife with shaft tools built in.
