Super Macro Close Up Lens (Micro Series)

Description

Macro depth of field is thin, which is why the two focus distance sticks supplied here matter more than they look: they set the working distance physically rather than leaving it to guesswork. The lens covers 9 cm to 18 cm on the Micro HD, HD+, Micro 2.0 and ReefMaster RM-4K, and 10 cm to 15 cm on the Micro 3.0. Shooting a small subject from 10 cm puts it in clear water rather than behind a metre of it, so colour and detail survive that a wider frame loses. The optics are a 2-element optical grade array with an anti-reflective coating, held in an anodised aluminium barrel on a rubber press-on mount, so the lens goes on and comes off underwater, and a removable lanyard keeps it with the rig when it is off the port. It is cut for the Micro series and the RM-4K rather than a 67 mm threaded port; SportDiver owners want the 67mm +6 Macro instead. It suits a Micro-series owner shooting small subjects.
