Description
Anyone who has taken a 1300 lumen torch into a green inshore site knows the problem: the beam lights the water rather than the reef, and turning the power up makes it worse. White light scatters off everything suspended in front of the lens, and the short wavelengths scatter hardest. A yellow filter removes those, so less comes back as glare and the scene ahead reads as clearer instead of brighter. It also warms the beam, which puts some red back into footage that would otherwise be uniformly green. This is the 35 millimetre size, fitting the AL1300WP, AL1300XWP and the AL2900XWP Black Molly, and it comes off in seconds once the water turns blue. It suits a diver working a 1300 series light in green or particulate water.
