Superocchio Mask

Description

Deep freediving strips a mask back to one requirement, which is that it holds as little air as possible, and the Superocchio has been meeting it for so long that it has outlasted most of its replacements. It is a small mask with minimum internal volume, built around two separate lenses placed very near the eyes, which is what preserves visibility in every direction despite the reduced size. The skirt is deliberately limited in size, and it adapts easily across many facial shapes rather than needing to be matched. It remains a favourite among freedivers decades into production, which in a category where models are replaced every few seasons says most of what needs saying about the design. It suits a freediver working deep who wants the least mask volume available.
