Description

Xensation glass resists scratching well, which is exactly why the marks that do appear are permanent and sit right across the part of the screen being read. A sacrificial guard takes them instead, and it is a consumable priced accordingly. A new EON Steel arrives with one already fitted, so this is the replacement, and the moment to fit it is when the first has hazed rather than after a season of squinting at it. It goes onto a clean, dry screen with no tools. Divers who travel tend to carry a spare, because a guard scuffed in a rinse tank on day one otherwise blurs the rest of the week. Note that the EON Core takes a different guard and the two do not interchange. It suits an EON Steel owner keeping the display readable and the resale value intact.
