Suunto M-3 Global Compass

Description

A baseplate compass is the standard tool for taking a bearing off a chart or a map, and the M-3 Global is built to work wherever the trip goes. Its fast needle is balanced for use in both hemispheres, so it settles level in South Africa as well as in Europe, and it turns on a jewel bearing in a liquid-filled capsule for smooth, steady readings. Adjustable declination correction lets the local difference between true and magnetic north be set once and forgotten, which keeps every bearing accurate to the map. Luminous markings allow it to be read in low light, early on the water or in the dark on a trail. The clear baseplate lets map lines be laid against the edge to plot a course. It is a premium precision compass for convenient direction taking in demanding conditions, and it suits hiking, boating, kayaking and navigation courses. It measures about 120 x 61 x 14 mm and weighs about 48 g.
