The Sonic are bone conduction sports headphones that let music and the world around share the same ear. Instead of sitting in the ear, they rest on the jawbone and carry sound through it, leaving the ear canal open so traffic, nature and other people stay audible while training. A newly designed sound transducer gives higher sensitivity, an enhanced bass effect and less noise leakage than earlier designs, and the build is lightweight and comfortable. An IP55 rating covers sweat and rain, so they are ready for hot days, cold days and wet runs. One charge gives up to 10 hours of playback, a full charge takes 60 minutes, and a quick 10 minute top-up gives another 3 hours when the battery is low just before a workout. They connect to a phone over Bluetooth, and the Suunto app changes sound mode or switches dual device connection on and off.
