The Shearwater Swift GPS Transmitter is a wireless tank-pressure transmitter that combines standard air integration with an onboard GPS receiver, capturing the exact coordinates of a dive's entry and exit points. Like the standard Swift, it screws onto the HP port of a first stage regulator and sends real-time gas pressure data to a compatible dive computer for the duration of the dive, supporting accurate gas time remaining (GTR) calculations throughout.

Before and after the dive, the integrated GNSS receiver locks onto GPS, Galileo, and BeiDou satellites to record surface coordinates. Battery life under this dual function drops relative to the standard Swift, rated for approximately 100 dive hours, based on 100 one-hour dives with 20 minutes of GNSS operation before and after each dive, or two years in storage. When the dive log is synced to the Dive Shearwater app, the recorded coordinates populate a map showing entry and exit points, the dive location where available, and a global view of all logged dives. Any Shearwater air-integrated computer within range, approximately 1 metre, can pick up the Swift GPS signal, and the transmitter should be worn on the same side of the body as the receiving computer for best reception.

Compatibility covers the Perdix 2, Perdix AI, Petrel 3, Peregrine TX, Teric, Tern TX, and NERD 2. If a diver already runs multiple Swift transmitters, only one needs to be the GPS version to capture location data for the whole set. The unit shares the same collision-avoidance system and randomised transmit interval as the standard Swift, allowing reliable operation alongside other transmitters in the water. Installation is tool-free and hand-tightened. Location accuracy on entry and exit points has been reported as inconsistent by some early users and may vary by conditions and firmware version.
