Description

Most heat lost in cold open water goes out through the head, and a swimmer without a hood is finished long before the rest of the body says so. This is a 2 mm neoprene hood made specifically for open water swimming rather than diving, which matters because a diving hood is thicker, tighter around the face and slower in the water than a swimmer needs. A chin strap in stretch fabric holds the fit, so it does not ride back off the forehead on a stroke, which is the failure that makes people give up on hoods entirely. It is also drawn for maximum visibility, so the swimmer is seen in open water where a bare head is nearly invisible from a boat. Two sizes, S/M and L/XL. That answers a cold morning swim, a long open water session and a triathlon start. It suits an open water swimmer extending the season.
