SCUBAPRO Tank Band Supercinch (Stainless Steel)

Description

A band that slips lets a cylinder ride down the back and drags the trim down with it, which is why the buckle material matters. Stainless takes more clamping force than plastic without flexing and does not go brittle with age and sunlight. The band is set once to a given cylinder diameter, after which it closes on the cam with no webbing pulled through and re-tightened by hand, and that fixed setting keeps the clamping load identical dive after dive, including through the roll of a launch off a Cape beach. Setting the cam once also means a tank goes on in the dark without guesswork. It fits SCUBAPRO BCDs across the range and arrives complete with buckle and webbing, though another maker's slot spacing may not match. Webbing is a wear item: a band needing re-tightening between dives should be replaced rather than hauled tighter. It suits a diver wanting the stronger of the two cam bands.
