SCUBAPRO Tank Band Traditional (Plastic Buckle)

Description

A cracked buckle on a launch morning costs one dive off the plan if a spare is in the save-a-dive kit, and the whole day if it is not. This is the standard cam band supplied on the lighter jackets in the range, closing on a plastic buckle. Plastic keeps weight and cost down, which is why it appears on travel and entry-level BCDs and not on technical rigs, and why sidemount and travel divers are often pointed at it when an airline allowance is tight. Fitting is a threading job: the webbing runs through the slots in the backpack and the cam lever pulls the loop closed onto the cylinder, with no tools involved beyond getting the thread path right. Most SCUBAPRO backpacks take it, but slot spacing varies on older models and is worth measuring first. Webbing is a consumable, giving up grip after enough wet-and-dry cycles. Heavier duty calls for the stainless Super Cinch instead. It suits a diver replacing a worn band or carrying a spare.
