Description

Tank bands are consumables. The webbing stretches, the buckle corrodes, and the whole assembly is cheap to replace and expensive to ignore, because the failure mode is a cylinder moving on a diver's back at depth. This is the GripLock band for Aqua Lung BCDs that are not built on the Wrapture harness system, and confirming which of the two a BCD uses is the one thing to do before ordering. The buckle is metal with a finger-saving design, so it can be pulled genuinely tight rather than being left a notch loose to protect a fingertip, and micro-adjustment on the strap sets it for the cylinder actually being dived rather than an average one. On a club or rental set that adjustment is what lets one BCD take a 10 litre and a 15 litre through the same week. It suits a diver or a centre replacing a worn tank band on a non-Wrapture Aqua Lung BCD.
