Description
Full-size binoculars do not need to cost a fortune. The Tasco Essentials 10x50 is a standard-size porro prism binocular that gives 10x magnification with large 50 mm objectives for bright images. Fully coated lenses and BK7 prisms handle the optical work, and fold-down eyecups make it comfortable to use with or without glasses. A centre focus system adjusts both barrels at once, and a close focus of about 5.5 m allows nearby subjects to be viewed. The field of view is 122 m at 1,000 m, which helps in finding and following a boat, a bird or a landmark. At 770 g it is a solid, practical pair for the boat, the beach or the bush, and a sensible entry-level choice.
