Description

Underwater, distance is the enemy rather than the goal, so a teleconverter on a camera bought for diving is firmly a topside accessory. On land it is the piece that reaches past what the camera's own 4x optical zoom can cover, giving 1.7x magnification for an effective 170 mm. The optics are a three element, two group design across a 14 degree angle of view, and the closest focusing distance is 0.3 metres, which is the genuinely useful part: a long lens that still focuses close enough for a large subject at arm's length rather than only for things far away. It mounts on the 40.5 mm thread of the CLA-T01 adapter, sold separately, measures 46.2 by 43.3 mm and weighs about 94 grams. Fitment runs the TG-7 back to the TG-1. It attaches to the camera directly, so it will not go through the PT-059 housing. It suits a TG owner shooting at distance on land.
