Argon Cylinder Set

Description

Argon insulates a drysuit better than air, which is why cold-water and technical divers inflate their suits from a separate small cylinder. Tecline's argon set supplies the whole system: an aluminium cylinder, a first stage for argon and an over-pressure relief valve that vents the low-pressure side if the first stage creeps. The 0.85 L version uses a Luxfer cylinder of 80 mm diameter and 280 mm height without the valve, rated to 200 bar, compact enough to strap directly to a backplate. The 1.5 L version uses a Tecline cylinder for longer dives or several dives between fills. Cylinder colour depends on stock. That suits a twinset diver on long decompression dives in cold water, a sidemount diver who carries the argon bottle along the body, and a winter drysuit diver who wants warmer inflation on a single tank. The cylinder is for suit inflation with argon only and is never breathed; the drysuit inflator hose and mounting straps are sold separately. It suits a drysuit diver adding argon inflation.
