Cold Water Spool

Description

Cold fingers in thick gloves struggle to hook into the small centre hole of a standard finger spool, which is exactly when a DSMB needs to go up smoothly. Tecline's Cold Water spool is milled from a single piece of Delrin, with no glued joints, and has a large flared centre hole that takes a gloved finger. One side widens so the double-ender can hook in to make winding easier. It carries white braided nylon line and a 100 mm stainless steel double-ender. On a winter quarry dive in dry gloves the 30 m version sends up a DSMB without fumbling. On a cold ocean dive the 40 m version gives extra line for a deeper deployment. It suits a drysuit diver who needs a spool that works with thick gloves.
