Description

A small diver in a drysuit often needs extra weight to sink, yet a full-size steel plate reaches past the hips and sits badly on a short back. This Tecline set is built on the 3 mm stainless steel H MINI backplate, 32 by 20 cm and 0.92 kg, which Tecline recommend for divers under 150 cm. The adjustable Comfort MINI harness, made for this plate, and a crotch strap complete it, for a set weight of 1.89 kg. On a winter dive at an inland site, the steel carries a share of the ballast on the back rather than on a belt that slides around a narrow waist. For a teenager moving up from a junior jacket, the harness adjusts at the shoulders and waist as the diver grows and changes suits. A school can keep this set ready for its smallest students on cold-water courses. A wing, tank bands and a single tank adapter have to be bought separately. It suits a small diver who dives cold water and wants the plate to add some weight.
