DIR Adjustable Harness with 6mm Stainless Backplate

Description

Winter drysuit diving on a single aluminium cylinder is where a diver runs short of weight on the back and long on lead around the hips. This Tecline set combines a full 6 mm stainless steel backplate of 4.20 kg, without a logo, with the one-piece DIR harness fitted with a chinch adapter, and a crotch strap, for a set weight of 5.0 kg. The chinch adapter lets the shoulder straps open up over thick undersuits in January and close down again for a wetsuit in summer, without re-threading. On a twinset for deeper inland dives, the heavy plate adds ballast directly over the cylinders. Movable D-rings on standard webbing keep the familiar DIR layout. The weight that helps underwater makes the set heavy to carry and to fly with. Tecline recommend the 40 by 26 cm plate for divers over 170 cm, and the wing and tank bands are sold separately. It suits a cold-water diver who wants maximum plate weight with adjustable shoulders.
