DIR Hard Webbing Harness with 3mm Stainless Backplate

Description

Soft webbing folds and twists when the rig is dropped on a bench, and some divers would rather have straps that stay open and flat. This Tecline set uses the one-piece DIR harness in stiff hard webbing, with movable D-rings, on a 3 mm stainless steel standard backplate of about 2 kg, plus a crotch strap. The stiffer straps are easier to find and slip into on a rocking boat, with gloves on, when the rig is standing on its cylinder. For a twinset diver doing long decompression dives, the steel plate forms a rigid base for bands and a wing. The webbing is cut to fit one diver, and the 40 by 26 cm plate is the size Tecline recommend for divers over 170 cm. Hard webbing is less forgiving against bare skin than the soft version, so it suits thicker suits best. The wing and cylinder hardware are separate purchases. It suits a diver who prefers firm, flat webbing on a steel DIR rig.
