DIR Harness with 3mm Aluminium Backplate

Description

A diver who already trims perfectly in a thin suit does not want a steel plate adding 2 kg that then has to be balanced with a bigger wing. This Tecline set mounts the one-piece DIR harness in standard webbing, with movable D-rings, on a 3 mm aluminium standard backplate of 0.85 kg, with a crotch strap, and the set weighs about 1.35 kg. For a dive holiday with a checked-bag limit, the light plate keeps the rig's share of the allowance small. In tropical water with an aluminium cylinder, it keeps the overall rig close to neutral without extra lead. The DIR layout stays the same as on a steel plate, so hose routing and clip points carry over between rigs. The webbing is cut to one diver, and the 40 by 26 cm plate suits divers over 170 cm. Bands, adapter and wing are bought on their own. It suits a diver who wants a travel DIR rig that matches a steel one at home.
