DIR Soft Webbing Harness with 3mm Stainless Backplate

Description

A DIR harness spends most of its life pressed against a thin wetsuit or a drysuit shell, and softer webbing is gentler on both. This Tecline set uses the one-piece DIR harness in soft webbing printed with the Tecline E logo, with movable D-rings, on a 3 mm stainless steel standard backplate of about 2 kg, plus a crotch strap. In a warm-water cave system dived in a 3 mm suit, the soft straps sit comfortably over the shoulders for long dives. At a cold inland quarry in a drysuit, the steel plate still carries a share of the ballast on the back. The pliable webbing threads easily through the plate slots when the harness is first cut and fitted to one diver. At 40 by 26 cm, the plate is Tecline's full size, meant for divers taller than 170 cm. A wing and tank bands, or a single tank adapter, are needed to finish the rig. It suits a diver who wants the standard steel DIR rig with softer webbing.
