Description

Retaining rings on regulators and valves are notched or drilled rather than hexagonal, so an ordinary spanner cannot turn them without damage. This Tecline hook tool is an adjustable hook spanner in chrome vanadium steel with a red grip, and it comes with interchangeable pins so it can engage either slots or holes. The handle is marked for diameters from about 19 to 51 mm. A technician undoing a first stage retaining ring during an annual service gets a secure grip without burring the notches. The pin version turns rings drilled with holes rather than cut with slots. A workshop keeps it alongside the rest of its regulator tools. Which rings it fits depends on each regulator's design and service manual. It suits a regulator service technician or workshop.
