QR Harness with 3mm Stainless Backplate

Description

Climbing a boat ladder with a steel rig still on the back is hard work, and many divers prefer to unclip at the surface and pass the rig up first. This Tecline set combines the fully adjustable QR harness, with plastic quick-release buckles on the shoulder straps, with a 3 mm stainless steel standard backplate of about 2 kg and a crotch strap. On a cold-water charter off a rocky coast, the steel plate carries part of the ballast while the quick releases let the rig come off in the swell. A diver moving from a jacket BCD keeps a familiar way of getting in and out of the kit. The shoulder and waist straps adjust through D-rings, so a change from wetsuit to drysuit needs no re-threading. The plate is the full 40 by 26 cm size that Tecline match to divers over 170 cm. Everything beyond plate, harness and crotch strap is sold separately. It suits a boat diver who wants a steel backplate rig that is quick to take off.
