Description

In a long-hose configuration the backup second stage has to sit right under the chin, where the diver can take it with no hands if the primary is donated. A silicone necklace keeps it there. Tecline make theirs from a durable silicone band, designed specifically to carry a second stage, in two lengths and two colours. The 0.62 m size (Tecline's M) suits most divers with a thin exposure suit on a tropical trip, while the 0.72 m size (L) gives room over a thick drysuit collar or a hood in cold water. Black is the usual choice for a backup on a technical rig. Yellow makes an octopus easy to find on a recreational set, or marks the backup on a sidemount rig where both second stages look the same. The loop slips over the second stage mouthpiece neck so the regulator hangs ready. It suits a diver moving to a long-hose setup or replacing a perished necklace.
