Stainless Steel H Backplate 3mm

Description

A standard steel plate is more metal than some divers want, but aluminium leaves them short of weight in a drysuit. Tecline's H-shaped stainless steel backplate sits between the two: 3 mm steel cut to an H outline that keeps the full 40 by 26 cm height and width while bringing the weight down to 1.50 kg. Tecline recommend this size for divers over 170 cm. Against Tecline's standard 3 mm steel plate at 2.05 kg, the H shape saves more than half a kilogram. For a diver who dives cold water at home and warm water on holiday, the one plate covers both without swapping. Paired with a single tank adapter it makes a compact single-cylinder rig, and Tecline's H soft pads are cut to the same outline. Harness, wing and hardware are sold separately. It suits a diver who wants a steel plate that carries some ballast without the full weight of the standard plate.
