Stainless Steel Midi Backplate 3mm

Description

A full-size plate on a shorter torso pushes the waist strap onto the hips and the top of the plate into the neck, which is uncomfortable on land and awkward in the water. Tecline's MIDI backplate is a 3 mm stainless steel standard-shape plate cut down to 36 by 22 cm, the size Tecline recommend for divers between 150 and 170 cm. It weighs 1.70 kg, so it still carries a useful share of ballast for drysuit diving. A diver of medium height moving to a backplate gets a plate that sits between the shoulder blades and the belt line. On a single cylinder in cold water it does the job of a full steel plate, and on holiday the lighter build is easier to pack. The plate comes on its own, with harness, wing and cylinder hardware sold separately. It suits a diver of 150 to 170 cm who wants a steel plate that fits the back it is on.
