Thermoformable Regulator Mouthpiece

Description

No standard mouthpiece matches every set of teeth, and a poor fit is felt as jaw fatigue at the end of a long dive or as a regulator that needs constant gripping. A thermoformable mouthpiece can be moulded to the diver's own bite. Tecline's black version is the type that is warmed until it softens and then bitten into, so the tabs take the impression of the teeth and keep it once cool. The result grips with little effort, which pays off on a long decompression hang, on a week of repetitive liveaboard dives, and for a diver with an unusual bite who has never found a comfortable off-the-shelf mouthpiece. It fits a standard second stage mouthpiece neck and is secured with a cable tie. Tecline do not publish moulding instructions on the catalogue page, so the maker's leaflet should be followed. It suits a diver who wants a mouthpiece shaped to their own teeth.
