Valve Knob 51 mm Soft

Description

A handwheel that is too short or too hard gives a gloved hand little to grip when a valve has to be turned quickly. This Tecline soft knob is 51 mm long, made to fit a cylinder valve or a manifold isolator, and built from material Tecline describe as resistant to mechanical damage. It comes in black or green. On a twinset used through a cold inland winter, the longer soft knob is easier to find and turn in thick drysuit gloves. A green knob on a decompression cylinder marks it as the nitrox or oxygen cylinder at a glance on a crowded boat deck. When a knob has cracked after being dropped on a concrete fill bay, a replacement restores the grip without changing the valve. Fitting follows the valve maker's method and is best left to the workshop. It suits a diver who wants a larger, softer grip or colour marking on a valve.
