Description

Following a heading back to an anchor line in green water is a skill that still depends on an analogue compass, whatever a computer can do. This Tecline wrist compass has a low-profile plastic housing on an adjustable strap, so it sits close to the forearm over a thin suit or a thick drysuit sleeve. The rotating bezel sets a bearing before descent, and a side window lets the diver read the heading while swimming with the arm held level in front. On a navigation course at an inland lake, that side window makes reciprocal courses easier to follow. On a reef dive with a sandy return route, a bearing taken at the boat can save a long surface swim at the end. The dial is fluorescent for low light, and the compass gives direction only, with no depth or time. It suits a student or recreational diver who wants a simple wrist compass.
