Description

Navigating by compass underwater means reading a heading quickly, often while swimming, and a small shallow capsule can be hard to read at a glance. The X7 is Tecline's high-profile compass, with a taller capsule that gives a clearer view of the card. It has a rotating bezel for setting a bearing, a side window for reading the heading with the arm held level, and a fluorescent dial for low light. Tecline offer it two ways. The bungee version sits on an elastomeric mount that grips over a drysuit or a thick wetsuit and compresses with the suit at depth. The strap version uses an adjustable wrist mount, a familiar fit for a diver in a thin suit on warm-water trips. That covers a navigation specialty course, a search pattern on a recovery dive, and a return to the shot line on a wreck in poor visibility. It suits a diver who navigates often and wants a compass that is quick to read.
