Description

Pro Capture is the feature that changes what this camera can catch. It buffers up to 70 frames from before the shutter is actually pressed, so a shot that depends on reaction time no longer depends on it. Around that sits a compact built to be treated badly: waterproof to 15 metres with no housing and 45 with the optional PT-059, dustproof, freezeproof to minus 10 degrees Celsius, shockproof from 2.1 metres and crushproof to 100 kg. A 12 MP BSI CMOS sensor and TruePic VIII processor handle low light, helped by an f/2.0 maximum aperture on the 4x optical zoom, 25 to 100 mm equivalent, with ISO to 12,800. Four macro modes cover close-up work and a Field Sensor System logs location and environmental data. Vertical video, interval shooting, exposure smoothing and USB-C are new on this generation. It weighs 249 grams with battery and card. This is the black body. It suits a diver or hiker wanting one camera that survives everything.
