Torch Handle Goodman Kit

Description

A torch held in the hand is a hand that cannot run a reel, hold a line or work a camera. A Goodman handle moves the light onto the back of the hand, so it points where the hand points and the fingers stay free. On a cave dive that is what makes line handling possible with a light still aimed forward. On a wreck it frees a hand for a reel while the beam stays on the route. On a filming dive it mounts a torch and an action camera together, so the light follows the lens. It takes up to two torches, which is how divers run a wide beam and a spot at the same time. Fitted once, it becomes the way the torch is carried rather than an accessory. It suits a technical diver, and it is supplied with the Luna ADV.
