Vigo Knife

Description

A knife that can be pulled out by a snagged line is worse than no knife, because it is gone before the moment it was carried for. The Vigo cannot be: two push buttons have to be pressed simultaneously to release it from the sheath, which is a deliberate two-finger action nothing in the water will perform by accident. It is small and flat, with a minimalist ergonomic handle covered in anti-slip rubber for a secure grip in a wet or gloved hand, and the flat profile means it mounts without standing proud of a rig. The blade is tempered 401 stainless with a rhomboidal cross section, which gives it resistance to flexing and breaking under a prying load. As Cressi put it, the durability comes from the quality of the material rather than the sharpness it arrives with. It suits a diver who wants a low-profile blade that cannot be lost from its sheath.
