Ring Light 1500 Macro Light

Description

Lighting a subject a few centimetres from the port is awkward with arm-mounted lights, which end up pointing past the lens or throwing a shadow across the frame. The Ring Light 1500 screws straight onto a 52 mm lens thread and surrounds the port with a ring of LEDs, giving 1500 lumens of 5700 K video light and 1800 lumens in strobe mode over a 90 degree beam. It is designed around the OM System TG housings and fits other compact housings with an M52 thread. On a muck dive it lights small subjects evenly from all sides, on a shallow shore dive it replaces a tray and arms, and in strobe mode it gives more than 9000 flashes on a charge. A rotary knob sets the output, an LED shows the charge, and the USB-C 21700 cell runs about 85 minutes on full video power. At 110 g in water it barely changes the trim of a compact rig, and it is rated to 60 m. It suits a compact camera shooter who wants simple, even macro light.
