WeeFine WFA101 Housing Vacuum System

Description

A hair on an O-ring or a seal that did not seat can go unnoticed until the housing is in the water, which is why many photographers check for a vacuum on land first. The WFA101 is WeeFine's vacuum system: an anodised aluminium valve that stays fitted in a housing accessory port, and a pump that draws air out of the housing through it. When the target vacuum is reached the indicator light turns green, and if it has not changed after about 10 minutes the housing is keeping its vacuum. The valve runs on a user-changeable CR1632 cell and is rated to 100 m. It needs a WeeFine adapter matched to the housing's port, sold separately. On a boat morning it checks the housing before the first dive, after a battery change it confirms the door is sealed again, and on a travel rig it replaces guesswork after reassembly. A vacuum check does not replace O-ring care. It suits a housing owner who wants a seal check before each dive.
