WFL07 Wide Angle Wet Lens

Description

A wide dome made for a mirrorless or DSLR housing is too big and too heavy to hang off a phone housing. The WFL07 is a small dome built around smartphone optics rather than camera lenses: it screws onto a 52 mm thread, such as the one on the WeeFine Smart Housing, and at 0.57x widens a 24 mm view to about 130 degrees. Four elements in four groups sit in an anodised aluminium body only 76 mm across and 57 mm deep. On a reef it takes in wide scenes with a phone, on a snorkel from the surface it catches a broad view of the shallows, and on a travel trip it replaces a heavy dome in the bag. It weighs 226 g on land and 128 g in water, so it barely changes how a phone housing handles, and it is rated to 80 m. It suits a smartphone diver who wants a wider view in a small package.
