Apeks Surelock Weight System

Description

A weight system that can be dropped in an emergency is only useful if it also stays put for the rest of the dive, and most designs trade one against the other. SureLock locks positively into its attachment and releases on a single deliberate pull. On a deep dive that means weight that will not shed itself when a diver rolls or squeezes through a restriction. On an emergency ascent it ditches without a second thought. On a backplate rig it moves ballast off a belt and onto the harness, where it sits closer to the body and helps trim rather than pulling at the hips. The SureLock attachment must be fitted first, and it is sold separately. It suits a diver on a WTX harness or a backplate who wants ditchable weight carried properly.
