Description

Tuning matters more than loudness. At 3250 Hz this cuts through wind and engine noise instead of being swallowed by it, and the 123 decibels behind that frequency carry a claimed half mile on land and up to 50 feet underwater. A patented double-chamber design purges water automatically when blown, so it works in rain, after full submersion, and either way up. It also takes very little breath to sound, which is what separates a whistle a diver can use after a long swim from one they cannot. The body is high-impact non-corroding thermoplastic, roughly 61.5 by 42.8 by 21.6 mm. It carries SOLAS and US Coast Guard approval and is used by coast guards, police, military and search and rescue. Attach it to a BCD shoulder strap where it can be reached without looking. It is a surface signalling device first; the underwater range is a secondary use. It suits any diver adding a surface signal.
