Under a 5mm suit this takes the core to 8mm and puts neoprene over the head for the first time; under a Xenos 7mm it makes 10mm across the core, which is the pairing Fourth Element publish for their coldest wetsuit work. Very little else buys that much warmth for the money. The thickness split is deliberate, 5mm on the hood where heat leaves fastest and 3mm on the body where more bulk would simply fight the suit over the top. A smooth outer face lets it slide under a wetsuit instead of gripping it, with a thermal lining against the skin. The hood has a smoothskin seal at the face against ingress and micro holes through the crown that vent trapped air on the way down. It is sleeveless, so the shoulders stay free. Seven sizes run 2X Small to 2X Large in black, suiting the Proteus II, Xenos and any other back-zip suit. It suits a woman wanting more warmth without a new wetsuit.
