Apeks WTX-D30 Single Cylinder Wing

Description

Choosing a wing is mostly choosing lift, and too much of it leaves a diver managing a large air cell around a small cylinder. The Apeks WTX-D30 sits in the middle of the WTX single cylinder range at 32 lb, 142 N, in a donut shaped cell that wraps the cylinder so air stays balanced instead of rolling to one side. The shell is 1000D Armorshield Cordura over a 22 mil urethane bladder closed with a heavy duty YKK zip, and the K style inflator sits off centre on a low profile hose, clear of the first stage. On a recreational boat dive with a single cylinder of up to 15 litres it gives stable trim without bulk. On a temperate shore dive in a 5 mm suit it carries the lead comfortably. For a diver moving off a jacket BCD it is a measured first step into backplate and wing. Harness and plate are sold separately. It suits a single cylinder diver building a first backplate rig.
