Closed DSMB 90 cm

Description

A delayed surface marker is the difference between surfacing beside a boat and surfacing in front of one, and the difference between a skipper finding a group and a skipper searching for it. This is a closed 90 cm buoy in orange, sealed at the base rather than open to the water, so it holds its gas on the surface in chop instead of spilling it and folding over. An overpressure valve vents the expansion as it rises, which means it can be filled at depth and sent up from a spool or reel without bursting. Ninety centimetres is the size that stays visible in swell without being unwieldy to stow in a pocket. Oral inflation through a metal end fitting keeps it independent of the regulator. It suits any diver deploying from depth on a drift, in boat traffic, or at the end of a decompression stop.
