Zen Octopus

Description

Free-flow on the surface is the commonest complaint about an octopus, because it hangs mouthpiece-down in moving water and starts delivering gas into the sea. The Zen Octo carries an adjustable Venturi to shut that down, and radial pressure openings that distribute water pressure evenly across the diaphragm, which further reduces the risk even in strong current. The result is an octopus that stays quiet until it is needed. It breathes the same as the Zen second stage rather than being a lesser part, so a diver receiving it is not handed something noticeably worse than their own regulator, and it is finished in high-visibility yellow for identification in an emergency. The purge button is large and easy to find under stress. It is rated for water temperatures above 10 degrees. It suits a diver running a Zen regulator who wants a matching alternate air source.
